18th March 2006 REFEREE CANDIDATES COURSES In conjunction with the Evesham League and Evesham Referees Association we are running a Referee Candidates Course in an attempt to alleviate the pending acute referee shortage in the area. However, the course is open to those outside the area, the criteria being that you must want to referee Eleven a Side Football and that you are over 14 years of age by the time of the final examination. This course which is basically held over a week end is fairly high pressured and therefore you may feel better suited to a slightly more leisurely paced course, details of these courses are also listed below. If you are interested in refereeing Mini Soccer only then details of these courses are also listed. ELEVEN A SIDE FOOTBALL
Day 1 of the Evesham course will be on basic Law and will be classroom based, whilst, day 2 will involve outdoor activity. At the end of day 1 there will be a multi-choice exam, successful candidates can then proceed onto day 2 and the final examination on the evening 23rd May For the other course, the first three weeks are on basic Law, with an exam on the fourth week based on the multi-choice principle. Successful candidates can proceed to the second part of the course provided they commence refereeing eleven-a-side matches. The second part of the course is based on the practicalities of refereeing with the use of video, and will commence after week 4. The last week of the course is another examination. Successful candidates will receive a certificate and be registered as either a level 7 or level 8 referee. The cost for all courses is £30.00 for over 16, £10.00 for under-16. In both instances the full fee will be refunded when you have refereed 10 number eleven-a-side matches and attended a seminar. In addition there is a registration fee of £15.00 payable on passing the first examination and being registered as a level 9 referee. Additionally, you will be required to attend a Child Protection Course and make a submission to the Criminal Records Bureau, costs associated with these items will be notified prior to the commencement of the Course. MINI SOCCER REFEREES COURSE Thursday
and Friday 10th and 11th August 2006 Cost for the course, all ages over 14 £15.00. A multi-choice examination will take place as the final session and successful candidates will be issued with a Certificate.
