Girls Football - Update

Dear All,

We are pleased to say that the girl’s football indoor coaching is going very well indeed and hopefully everyone is enjoying themselves!

As numbers increase and the girls are using the whole of the gym we ask that from now on they are dropped off and picked up from the foyer and not from inside the gym area. If parents want to stay they can watch from the foyer and not inside the gym – it's also safer, especially with the older age groups!

After Christmas, we are considering organising girl’s football on ‘Welland Recreation Field’ probably on a Saturday morning from 10am until 11.30. The club has been very fortunate in being approached by Kate Taylor who is interested in running the sessions with Jackie Smith helping as much as needed to begin with. These sessions would be for year 5 & 6 – 7 & 8 with a view to entering two teams in the local ‘Mercian League’ next season at under 12s (7-a-side mini-soccer) and under 14s (11-a-side).

Kate has already enrolled on the ‘ladies only Level 1’ course starting on October 15th at Worcester University and there are still places left if anyone else would like to join her?

If anyone is interested please have a word with Jackie or myself. If we are to enter teams into leagues we will require several more volunteers.

We will also keep you informed on what is happening.

Thank you,

Yours sincerely,
Peter Manion - Chairman
(PLEASE NOTE NO INDOOR GIRLS FOOTBALL DURING OCTOBER HALF-TERM WEEK)
